
The United Way of Lee County has announced this week that they are searching for their new Junior Board of Directors. The United Way Junior Board of Directors is a service-oriented group with the desire to help the community and learn about what it means to be on a Board of Directors. This group of individuals will attend quarterly meetings to discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities, to brainstorm service project ideas, and to network with other individuals. There will be monthly opportunities to serve and volunteer in the Lee County area.
Qualifications include being a college Junior, college Senior, or young professional between the ages of 20 to 29. They must demonstrate a strong passion for the United Way mission and for helping the Lee County community. Individuals should also show commitment to volunteering, show excellent communication skills and show leadership skills through previous roles. Junior Board members will be required to attend four quarterly meetings, attend at least 75 percent of service projects or volunteer opportunities, commit to understanding United Way and commit to at least a one-year term.
