The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Helping Families Initiative, and United Way of Lee County are teaming up once again to host a 2024 coat drive to help the citizens of Lee County this winter.
Last year, we were able to distribute over 600 coats! In 2024, we're working to increase that number and to help even more people stay warm this winter.
After the coats are collected, we will be hosting our free Bundle Up Boutique pop-up shopping experience to allow community members in need to come and choose coats for themselves and their family members.
Collection Dates and Locations
You can drop off your gently used or new coats October 1-18 at the following locations:
- AuburnBank (all locations)
- Christ Methodist Church
- EAMC (in the chapel)
- East Alabama Mental Health (both locations)
- Justice Center
- Lee County Sheriff's Office
- Opelika Police Department
- United Way of Lee County
Bundle Up Boutique
The boutique will be located at the Opelika Public Library and will be available for shopping November 6-7 or until all coats are gone. We will not be requiring any identification, proof of income/residency, etc. for shopping in the boutique.
