Costume Construction Unit
A large portion of my students have an interest in Costume Design and Creation for both the theatre competitions that we attend, as well as for the productions we stage at the school. With this grant, I could purchase the necessary items needed to teach my students the craft of creating and altering costumes, which is a skill that will serve them as a potential profession as well as a general life skill! We have a couple of donated sewing machines, but nothing else that is needed to truly learn how to create costumes. Example items include measuring tools, cutting tools, ironing equipment, mannequins, and/or sewing tools.

Probability Project: Create a Carnival Game
This project aims to engage students in the practical application of probability concepts through the creation of a carnival game.
Students will use cardboard to construct the physical structure of their carnival game. This includes creating game boards, barriers, and any additional elements necessary for gameplay. Paint and markers will be utilized for decoration, allowing students to express their creativity and make the game visually appealing. The hands-on construction process will teach students about design and engineering principles while integrating art into mathematics.

Interactive English Notebooks
English Interactive Notebooks will be used in this English Special Education/General Education class. All classwork will be conducted in these interactive notebooks, which should be filled with creative and colorful entries. We will need art supplies and specific notebooks for all three classes, as approximately 100 students will be involved in this project. This is an opportunity for our Special Education students to engage with their peers in the general education classroom, allowing them time to think through their answers and receive help from peers and the teachers.

Read About Math
In my classroom , my students love a read aloud when it comes to Math. We are able to cover Math and Reading standards when we use them. The students are able to listen to the story and complete a math activity with it. They also can take an A.R. test on the books. My students are on a lower level than the grade they are in. These read alouds help them have a better understanding of the standards we are covering throughout the week or quarter.

Special Education Classroom and Sensory Room
The items bought would be used to enhance the learning of students in a self contained classroom setting. The items would also be used in the Sensory room shared by all self contained classrooms to help students regulate their bodies through sensory seeking items and manipulatives.

Final Four
Imagine walking into a classroom that feels like a championship arena—where students are not just learning but experiencing STEM in action! With your vote, we can turn the classroom into an interactive basketball-themed learning lab, complete with mini hoops, basketball challenges, coding-powered Dash robots, and real-world STEM experiments. Through these hands-on activities, students will see how STEM plays a crucial role in sports, helping them connect classroom learning to future careers in engineering, data science, sports analytics, and more. Your vote makes the difference! Help create an inspiring journey students will never forget.

Flexible Seating
I would love to be able to provide more flexible seating arrangements for my students as a way to create a more open and calming room that standard desk and chair just do not provide. I have been lucky to find tables (although I have had to personally repair and refurbish) that allow for no desks in the classroom but I would love to be able to provide more seating options in the future. I will be moved to a bigger classroom next year and will have room to initiate flexible seating arrangements.

Just-A-Swingin'
We are in need of heavy duty swing mats. We have large indentions where the kids have dragged their feet under each swing. When it rains, the indentions are filled with water that does not drain for days and we have to close our swings. Help us to keep these kids just-a-swingin'!

Passion Project
In this enrichment activity, students will have a designated time to work and discover more about their own interests. Students will research, study, record, and eventually produce a display or publication in a school-wide expo that demonstrates the work each student has put into his or her exploration of the chosen topic of interest. In class, on a designated day, students will use enrichment time to develop the project with the understanding that it will culminate in a physical platform (a video, a book, a song, a graphic novel) that will be exhibited at the end of the term.

Enriching the Arts
My name is Karley Good and I am an art teacher in Lee County serving at Wacoochee Elementary (565 students) and East Smiths Station Elementary (815 students). I am requesting extra funds to help cover the cost of basic art supplies due to the large number of students and the fact that all materials are consumable. With the help of the United Way of Lee County Classroom Enrichment Grant, I would be able to better serve my students with more meaningful projects. Thank you!

Classroom Carpet for Happy Kinders!
I am applying to get a carpet for my classroom for my kindergarten students to use in circle time! We recently switched to vinyl floors and I don't want my kiddos to sit on the hard floor. Classroom carpets can be pricey, so this grant will be a huge help! I work in a title one school and want my kids to feel as comfortable as they can in my classroom! Thank you for considering supporting my class!

Relax, Release, Revive
I am looking to create a small space where students can take a breath, release emotions and regain composure to be in class and not disrupt the learning of others. I would like to purchase a small comfortable rug, lava lamps, squishmellows, small fish tank, etc. We, as classroom teachers, see more disruptive behavior form students than ever before. Sometimes, just being able to step away to a safe area, will help the student to be able to come back and be a welcomed classmate.

Harmonious Chaos
My wishlist would include matching bookshelves large enough to house storage tubs for all of my art students. The art studio has almost no built-in storage, and the current shelving is used for supplies like paper and paints. Students usually leave their materials and tools on their tables. With three sets of students each day, it can get pretty messy. It would be much better if the tables could stay cleared to work on their art without clutter. I would use the funds to buy bookshelves and enough tubs for all my students to have ample storage. The art studio will always have a touch of chaos, but this would help keep us organized.

Flexible Seating "Wobble Seats"
I have five "wobble seats" at my small groups' table, and I believe a full-class set would be a fantastic addition. My classroom features six family-style tables, each accommodating four students for collaborative work. The seats I currently have are the perfect height for this setup.

Mobile Learning & Sensory Cart
The Mobile Learning & Sensory Cart will create a more inclusive classroom by providing flexible seating, sensory tools, and essential learning materials. Stocked with books, writing supplies, noise-canceling headphones, and fidget tools, it will support neurodiversity students by allowing seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor learning spaces. Many students with ADHD, autism, and sensory sensitivities struggle with focus in traditional settings—this cart will foster movement, choice, and engagement, helping all learners thrive.

CHILL!
The name for my project is CHILL and it stands for Calming, Healing, Inclusive, Low-stimulation, and Lounge. I am wanting to give students an area in my room which will allow students to be relaxed while also emphasizing that it's a calming, supportive space for students to reset and feel comfortable.

Science Buddies
Science Buddies will be a great way to help me supplement hands-on science experiments for my students. Creating fun science experiments will help my students benefit from all that our science curriculum has to offer. We will learn about potential and kinetic energy by building paper roller coasters. We will also build electric playdough animals to learn about energy through circuits. We will also learn about how energy changes and transfers by making smores. I will use this budget to be able to purchase any items needed to build science projects. Science that is hands-on makes learning so much fun and easier for them to understand.

ESL Workbooks by Ellie Tiemann
I recommend acquiring the ESL workbooks by Ellie Tiemann for our students. These workbooks are not only beneficial for in-class activities but also allow students to take them home for homework. They are visually engaging, featuring vibrant pictures and a variety of vocabulary that will enhance students' understanding and creativity in writing.
Investing in these workbooks for the entire year would be more effective than making colorless copies, which waste paper and can diminish student motivation. By using the workbooks consistently, we can foster a more efficient and inspiring learning environment that encourages hard work and creativity.

Communication Board for Special Education Playground
A permanent communication board of core words would be a wonderful edition to the playground for our students with special needs at Beauregard Elementary School. The playground is an environment that should inclusive for all students, however students with limited communication skills often need pictures to help them communicate more effectively. This would allow for students to be able to communicate with other students, teachers, and paraprofessionals about their preferences and needs on the playground using visuals. With an addition of a core communication board, all students can communicate and enjoy the space with a sense of belonging.

Slinging and Stinging: Leveraging Disc Golf to Build Community among Beauregard High School (BHS) Students
I would love to expand BHS physical education program by incorporating a disc golf unit, which requires the addition of disc golf baskets. The goal of physical education, according to The Society of Health and Physical Educators, is to develop physically literate individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of physical activity. Lee County is home to 3 great disc golf courses: Opelika Sportsplex, Spring Villa, and Smith Stations Sports Complex. I aim to introduce students to the sport of disc golf, with hope that they take advantage of nearby facilities and participate in this lifelong physical activity.

Seating for All
I am trying to build up different types of flexible seating in my classroom that are both practical and durable for the students. I know that some students need a little wiggle room when sitting and may not able to sit in a regular school chair or on the floor like some classroom peers. I would love to be able to give all of my students a variety of seating options to enhance their learning environment. Having flexible seating will help support diverse learning styles and needs as they are able to move as they are learning. This will increase their engagement throughout the school day and also meet different sensory needs among students.

Social Stars: Empowering Elementary Kids with Essential Social Skills Tools
The goal of the activities is to provide structured, engaging opportunities for students to develop key social and emotional skills that are essential for both personal growth and successful collaboration with peers. The activities will focus on promoting emotional regulation, behavioral management, and positive social interactions. These activities will be tailored to meet the individual needs of students, providing them with the tools to manage their emotions, interact constructively, and navigate social situations with confidence.

1st Grade Sensory Learning and Flexible Seating
Sensory items will be used to enhance student learning by encouraging students to utilize their creativity, problem solving skills, and curiosity. Flexible seating options will greatly enhance the learning environment for my 1st graders by giving them a variety of seating options to promote safe, and comfortable seating that better suits the students learning needs and movement.

Soft Start Morning Time
I am writing to request assistance with a grant aimed at enhancing our morning routines in kindergarten. The initiative focuses on providing a soft start to the day, allowing students to ease into their morning with choices that suit their individual needs. By offering options such as Playdoh, kinetic sand, STEM blocks, tangram sets, coloring pads, etc., we can foster engagement and creativity among our young learners. I have also included supplies for organizing these materials. Thank you for considering this request. Your support can make a significant difference in our classroom.

Sensory Area Makeover
We have recently lost use of our school sensory room and I am trying to make a sensory center in an area of my classroom. This would benefit my students, particularly those with sensory processing issues (most have autism spectrum disorder) so much! Research shows sensory play benefits all students as it focuses on activities that engage your child’s senses, helping them develop language skills and motor skills. It also helps with cognitive growth, fosters social interactions and encourages experimentation. So, with this one center, we could have an all inclusive developmental teaching area.

Literacy and Book Review Zone
This literacy and book review zone will function as a calming reading center and a space where students can transform into a book review recording studio. To promote regular reading, students will use this area to create engaging and inspiring book review videos to share throughout the school. Comfortable seating options, including bean bags and cozy chairs, will encourage students to settle down with a good book. Shelves stocked with a wide variety of genres and reading levels will ensure every student discovers something that piques their interest.

White Board and Magnetic Classroom Walls
I teach 8th grade math at Sanford Middle School. I would like to cover the back walls of my classroom with magnetic, dry erase boards. This will give the illusion of a study area like on a college campus and encourage collaboration between students. The walls will be used as extra workspace for students as individuals and groups as well as extra space to display student work.
